A highly decorative Pair of Late 19th Century Antique Japanese Meiji Period Satsuma Vases of excellent quality. The overall busy decoration in a typical Satsuma palette heightened with gilding, each vase painted with a pair of seated figures and with stylised flowers, probably intended to represent chrysanthemums. This lovely old pair, which originally would have had covers, sport Kylin handles and each stands upon three Kylin mask feet, the bases signed in red.
