A good Pair of Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Spode Blue and White Transfer Pottery Tea Plates printed in the "Rome" pattern, more widely known to today's Collectors as "Tiber" pattern. Introduced by Spode in 1811, the scene is derived from two aquatints published in "Views and Ruins in Rome and it's Vicinity", published in 1798. The reverse of each plate with upper case blue printed mark SPODE together with the impressed numeral 5.
