A fine and decorative Pair of Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Staffordshire Pottery Figures of a Scots Musician and his Companion ~ He holds a set of bagpipes in both hands, and wears a plumed hat, scarf, tunic, kilt and sporran ~ She wears a bodice, scarf and skirt, her left arm raised, she holds a tambourine in her left hand while her right rests across her chest. Catalogued as Figures 1650 and 1651 in Book 1 of Hardings' "Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835 - 1875", where they are illustrated with polychrome decoration, the pair offered here being more sparsely decorated
