This most attractive and colourful Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine, "An Old King" ~ HN 2134, was designed by Doulton's most famous Director of Art, Charles J. Noke and was issued from 1954 to 1992. The underside fully marked in green with the printed Royal Doulton backstamp, the title, The Old King, in green script, and in brown, the Painter's Monogram R.B. for Reg Brown, recorded as working at Doulton from 1928 to 1962. N.B. :- Rather surprisingly, this lovely old figurine is in fact a "Seconds", but frankly we find it difficult to decide quite why this should so, unless it be because the title reads "The Old King" rather than "An Old King" ~ That said, it has been priced accordingly.
