This delightful Early 20th Century First Year of Issue Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine ~ "Curly Knob" ~ HN 1627, decorated in an attractive blue and red colourway, was designed by leading Doulton artist Leslie Harradine, and was issued from 1934 - 1949, this figurine date coded 7 indicating the first year of production, ie. 1934. The underside fully marked in underglaze green with the Royal Doulton printed backstamp of the period together with the date code 7, Curly Knob HN 1627, "Curly Knob" Rd. No. 788725, { for 1933 }, Potted by Doulton & Co_, Painter's Monogram, PC in blue for Fanny Clark, recorded as working at Doulton Circa 1935. Impressed numerals 832,{ suggesting that the mould for this piece was actually produced in August 1932 }, plus further illegible set of impressed numerals.
