This rare and lovely Mid 20th Century Prototype Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine, "Marguerite" ~ HN 1929, was designed by leading Doulton artist Leslie Harradine and was issued in this Pale Pink and Yellow colourway from 1940 to 1949. Beautifully modelled and well coloured, the base fully marked in green with the printed Royal Doulton backstamp for the period together with the numeral 12 for 1939, Impressed Model Number 1046, and the Painter's Monogram HA 3, for Harry Allen, listed as working at Doulton Circa 1927. Clearly the third in a series of prototypes of this figurine, of which there probably would have been five or six.
