This diminutive and charming Early 20th Century Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine, "Marie" ~ HN 1370, decorated in a purple palette, was designed by leading Doulton artist Leslie Harradine, and issued from 1930 to 1988. The underside fully marked with the green printed Royal Doulton backstamp of the period above III which raises the possibility that this is in fact a First Year { 1930 } of Issue piece, this a distinct possibility since the companion figurine, "Rose" HN 1368, with which this item was purchased was potted in 1931 ! All this together with a Painter's monogram which looks like MS, { Mary Slater or Elizabeth M. Small ? }, an illegible impressed mark and in black script, the title, Marie and Potted by Doulton & Co.
