A rare and attractive Mid 20th Century Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine, "Penelope" ~ HN 1902, designed by leading Doulton artist Leslie Harradine, offered here in a lavender and green colourway, and issued from 1939 to 1949. The underside fully marked in green with the Royal Doulton printed backstamp of the period, together with the numeral 14, indicating that this figurine was produced in 1941, "Penelope", Rd. No. 834479., { for 1939 }, in green script, HN.1902, indistinct impressed Model Number and Painter's Monogram, JWS ?, unidentified, but listed as working at Doulton. Affixed Whitley Collection paper label, suggesting that this lady has at some stage enjoyed a trans-Atlantic voyage .
