This rare and attractive First Year of Issue Early 20th Century Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine ~ "Romany Sue" ~ HN 1758, offered here in a lavender colourway, was designed by leading artist Leslie Harradine, and was issued from 1936 - 1949. The underside fully marked in green with the printed Royal Doulton backstamp for the period, this together with the numeral 9, indicating that this figurine was potted in 1936, ie. the First Year of Issue; "Romany Sue", Rd. No. 812363, { for 1936 }, in green script, HN. 1758, Impressed Date Code, 31036, { for 03 October 1936 }, this above the impressed numeral 1, and in puce the Painter's Monogram, CS, unidentified but listed as working at Doulton Circa 1942.
