This lovely Late 20th Century Royal Doulton English Porcelain Cabinet Plate bears all of the hallmarks of Reg Johnson's outstanding talent as a ceramics painter "par excellence". Superbly decorated with an image of "Water Meadows with Cattle" and offered here as one of a pair with "The Hay Wain" after John Constable, the knurled border heavily gilded, this fine piece offers the perfect introduction to the works of this talented Staffordshire artist, examples of whose work may now be viewed at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery. Signed on the obverse, Reg Johnson, the reverse fully marked with the Royal Doulton printed backstamp in black and PAINTED BY - REGINALD JOHNSON.
