A rare and colourful Early 20th Century Antique English Studio Pottery Figurine, "The Tulip Woman" produced by Charles Vyse , { 1882 - 1971 } at his Chelsea, London studio, Circa 1921. Interestingly, given that this figurine was first introduced in 1921, the catalogue of the exhibition arranged by Richard Dennis in conjunction with The Fine Art Society, held at 148 New Bond Street, London, from 3rd to 20th December 1974, records the figurine there illustrated, which dates from 1922, as standing just 9.75 inches in height, which would seem to suggest that this particular piece is probably one of the earliest models produced. The underside fully marked in underglaze blue with the Potter's painted monogram CV CHELSEA 1921, this together with an affixed paper label which reads , "Left to Mary Eddison by Hilda Sharp { 1970 } Chelsea China figure by Charles Vyse "Tulip Woman".
