Edited by Ralph Edwards and L.G.G. Ramsey F.S.A. and originally published in 1957, this copy reprinted in 1963 by The Connoisseur, of which journal the latter was then Editor. Unsurpassed, both in the status of it's eminent contributors, and in the quality of their contributions, this series remains, after fifty years, a benchmark for students of furniture history and the foundation upon which much subsequent scholarship rests. Hard covers, large format, 180 pages, some minor foxing, line drawings and fine black and white plates, original dust jacket, now in a rather shabby state.
