This lovely Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Papier-mâché Standish / Inkstand comes complete with it's original brass topped ink bottles and stamp box. Bearing on the underside the impressed mark, "Jennens and Bettridge Makers to The Queen", this fine item illustrates well the quality of production of this justly celebrated company. In business in Birmingham from 1816 to 1864, and maintaining a showroom in New York City during the period of The Great Exhibition, 1851 - 52. Condition generally good though with some rubbing to the original painted and gilded decoration. Felt pads to feet replaced.
