A good Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Pratt-ware Pot-lid, "Uncle Toby", a medium sized lid, catalogued as No. 328 in Ball's A.C.C. Price Guide, and offered here in good order, free of chips or cracks, mounted in a later ebonised frame. Adapted from C.P. Leslie's painting, Uncle Toby, a prominent character in Lawrence Sterne's bawdy novel, "Tristram Shandy", is here depicted wearing a purple coat as he woos the Widow Wadman.
