A scarce and well coloured Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Staffordshire Pottery Figure Group of "A Gallant and his Sweetheart", catalogued by Harding, { Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835 - 1875 ~ Vol 2 } , as Figure No. 2021. He stands with his left arm around his companion, wearing a plumed hat, long coat, frilled shirt, a cloak over his shoulder, knee-length trousers and boots, and with a sash across his chest; she is bareheaded, wearing a short coat over a long dress with apron, her head rests upon his shoulder and in her right hand she clutches a basket of fruit. Quite possibly an as yet unidentified theatrical figure.
