A good Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Staffordshire Pottery Spill Vase / Figure ~ "Boy with Kennel and Dogs" ~ H 2242H. The boy is seated in a tree above a kennel, he wears a plumed hat, tunic and kilt, together with a plaid scarf over his left shoulder. A small spaniel sits on his lap, while another peers from the kennel, beside which, a larger spaniel sits waiting patiently. Harding illustrates the companion to this figure, H 2242G, in Book Three of "Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835 - 1875", as well as the pair which appear together in his Second Addendum to the same. In each case, the height is there given as 8.00 inches, while this figure stands 8.75 inches { 22.30 cm. } tall, suggesting that this piece was perhaps potted earlier than those there illustrated.
