A fine Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Staffordshire Pottery Portrait Figure which in our opinion almost certainly depicts the "Prince of Wales" as a young boy, seated on a pony jumping over a fence, and which originally would have been offered as one of a matching pair with that of the Princess Royal. Although not catalogued by Harding, { Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835 - 1875 }, this piece clearly relates to Figures a2372C and a2372D as illustrated on Page 234 of Book 3 of that publication, which undoubtedly derive from it. The present figure, with it's crisp modelling being of far superior quality is thus in all likelihood of much earlier production.
