A large, decorative and titled Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Staffordshire Pottery Figure of "The Lion Slayer" ~ P I9 ~ H 1904, popularly believed to depict the "Big Game Hunter", Roualeyn George Gordon- Cumming, a theory to which Harding, in his "Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835 - 75 ~ Book 2 ~ Fig. 1904" gives short shrift, although it is difficult to see why, since Gordon-Cumming's life, exploits and reputation would appear fully to support this attribution.
