A finely modelled and well coloured, Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Staffordshire Pottery Portrait Figure of "Highland Jessie" ~ P C265 ~ H 923, standing upon a titled serpentine base with raised gilt capitals. The apochryphal heroine of the Siege of Lucknow, supposedly one Jessie Brown, stands, wearing a jacket and skirt, a scarf held over her shoulders, beside her husband, Corporal Brown of the 32nd Regiment of Foot, who is seated on a barrel, holding a rifle.
